First official “Last Frontier” casting in Obninsk
All news

Not only Obninsk citizens came to participate in the casting, but also residents of other cities in the Kaluga and Moscow regions.

It was Obninsk casting that began the process of mass recruitment of actors for extras and group scenes. “The search for professional actors for the film “Last Frontier” about the exploit of Podolsk cadets has already been happening in Moscow for the last month and a half. But it was here, in Obninsk, where we wanted to start mass casting with the involvement of young people“, said Igor Furmanyuk, executive director of Voenfilm studios. “It is thanks to the efforts of the Obninsk people that the film project is so active, a powerful movement was born here even at the stage of the pre-production of the film, when we only formed an understanding of how this will all happen.”

…More than a hundred people have already passed through the casting. Basically – young guys and girls. Many gathered way before the procedure. When asked why the film project is so important to them, they vied with each other: the film is an opportunity to contribute to the preservation of history, to tell a large audience about the mass exploit of youth in our land during the war.

Eight people were selected before the start of the official casting: two from Podolsk and six from Obninsk. All of them are schoolchildren, pupils of the 10th grade. “Generally speaking, there is a big problem with young people”, Furmanyuk said. – The shooting process will start at the beginning of the school year, so we will have to negotiate with the schools so that the students are allowed to withdraw. And they themselves will have to make serious efforts to cope with the load both on the site and at school. ” The schoolchildren themselves are assured: study will not become a hindrance. “Athletes also manage to learn and perform”, says the pupil of School №13, Andrei Kuzmin.

The casting results will be summed up in the coming days. In the 20th’s of May the casting group will go to the theaters of the Kaluga region, watch performances and select professional actors, which can be used in episodes or on secondary roles. And already in June those who will be selected to participate in the film will go to the military unit to comprehend the basics of military affairs in order to look as convincing as possible on screen.
